the Bathroom, 2022

Working in collaboration with Tim Brandt, we converted a faculty closet into an immersive installation; an upside-down bathroom set somewhere in 1980’s America. This project was done over the course of three weeks. We used found objects to make the installation as believable as possible, including the real toilet and sink that we hung from the ceiling.

the Bus Stop, 2021

The Bus Stop, made in collaboration with Tim Brandt, Val Lockwood, and Will Thornburg, was a multi-media work intended to merge digital and physical space. We wanted to engage with the temporal aspect of bus stops, beginning with the physical construction of the space, and then interacting with it through a 20-minute film that ended in live performance.

Waverly, 2021

In 2014, my father’s collectible store closed. It was a place I explored throughout my childhood, and now I can only explore it in memory. In this installation, I wanted to create a non-place. I fabricated one of the back cabinets that lined the wall of Waverly Collectibles and bifurcated it with a 2-way mirror. On one side, the mirror reflects back and the shelves are full of the collectibles I used to look at when I was little. On the other, a dilapidated empty version becomes a transparent window to the other lively side, demonstrating memory’s vividity and inaccessibility.

Making a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, 2021

In this film, I explored my peanut allergy from a comical angle. I created an “instructional” video to aid in making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I welded and forged the metal props in the video, including the 5 foot long butter knife for safer application and a hazardous material container for the peanut butter.

Chalk, 2021

In this film, I looked to my highschool production class for inspiration. It would be an understatement to say my teacher was a bit of a character, and during his class, I would write down many of his iconic sayings. For this film, using nothing but quotes from my actual instructor, I created a character piece about an uptight high school teacher’s spiral into madness.
